Immobilization Surgery!
So last night I was coughing up quite a bit of blood. So when my doc came in the morning, on his hospital rounds, I told him. He seemed quite concerned about it, although it had stopped after about 2 hours last night. I was concerned; but he too immediate actions and called a doctor, whom in the past had done my immobilization surgeries, and put me on the schedule for earlier this afternoon! You see, what happens is a blood vessel in my lungs burst and must be fixed and put back together(immobilization). My doctor felt the need to get the surgery done today and didn't want to wait even until tomorrow to do it. So, that's what I did this afternoon. I do not get put fully asleep, they just give me drowsy medicine that relaxes me and makes me tired. I personally like the drowsy medicine because it make me loopy and goofy feeling. They, of coarse, numb everything up real well and enter in a main artery down by my groin. It doesn't hurt, if anything its more uncomfortable. The procedure took about an hour and a half. In the past its taken anywhere between 1 hr-4hrs. The time it took 4 hrs they accidentally nicked the main artery by my heart, so there was major complications with that one. There is always a risk of complications, and they have risen in the past. But today's surgery was successful. My recovery took about 2 hrs, I slept it off. But I was on bed rest until 10 pm, earlier. They put me on bed rest because it is a main artery that they go into and after surgery if to much stress is put on the site I could bleed to death. So, I'm hoping I get to go home very soon. I miss my kitty and roommate and want to go home! Hospitals are not fun at all, especially for long periods of times! I'm going to pass out because its super late. Goodnight all! Until next time.
